Salvage radiation without ADT?

I posted few days back that my PSA starting rising after 8 years. It is now at .038 after 9 years and 9 months. I'm seeing an oncologist next month and want to see if any one here has had a low and slow rising PSA and was treated with just radiation. I'm 77 years old and would like to avoid ADT.

You're still very low on PSA, so you'd be safe to monitor a while longer.

If you do treat, it's really your choice. Likely SRT alone would be fine, but given your risk profile I wouldn't be surprised to hear you get a recommendation to do both.

Seeing an oncologist for an opinion sounds like the best plan to me. Let us know what the doc thinks.

I had salvage radiation without ADT, right or wrong its has been 3 years and PSA is below .01. I go see the vampire in about a month for my 6 month draw.

Good luck - agree that you have time to decide.

My final path

All 17 lymph nodes were negative.

Prostate size: 4.1 x 3.7 x 4.9 cm

Prostate weight: 53 grams

Total GS 9 (4+5=9)

40% of the prostate involved

Seminal vesicles invasion: Identified

Margins: Minute focus of left posterior margin involved by the tumor. In the right and left apex there is focus approaching the edge, but due to the absence of ink in the portion, it cannot be definitively said that it is a true margin

Perineural invasion: Present, extensive

Thank you guys for your responses. I'm scheduled fro blood draw in 4 weeks followed by a visit to a radiation oncologist. I'm sure the PSA result will determine the course of action. Hoping for the best.
