If I were diagnosed today with low or medium risk PCA I would seek a trial out from these guys...

I don't know how the news missed this....I am a very skeptical person...I have seen all the claims over the year of a "cure" coming...this is the first company to actually be conducting a trial with this stuff....I have actually believe this treatment is capable of keeping the cancer at bay if not eliminating it completely.....

The targeting, which is the key, is working according to these people....after that they just heat the gold particles and it kills the cancer cells....then you go home....no big!

interesting - the targeting is the part that I wonder about. If you can get that right, a lot of treatment modes are possible.

The problem with PC and these treatments is that PC tend to be non-focal - there isn't a single tumor to target, but rather many. If you can get the gold into all the PC cells/tissue, okay, but that seems harder than these folks are suggesting.

Too much marking hype on that page for me, but the possibility is interesting.

I'll agree with Andrew. There are several "focal" treatments that have been tried. All have the same issue - that of finding and hitting all of the tumors. Good luck with that. . .

This is not "focal" therapy....the nano-particles are given intra-venously (sp) and then using a receptor target circulate through the blood stream and attach to the cancer cells when found. It is systematic....you then do a scan and see where the patient lights up and then do "focal" targeting of the laser to heat up the gold particles and kill the tumor in that location.....

There is a clinical trial going on with this system right now.
