It’s been a while so I wanted to share an update. As of last week I finished 35 days of EBRT. I have now been on ADT+zytiga since November, and it’s been six months since the RALP. In short a whirlwind over the past 6 months, and I still wonder how risky my cancer is (or was?) when I have been only chasing a lab number.
Happy to say the medicine is working. PSA has been undetectable since January and I’m hoping it stays that way for a very long time. Other surprising news is that I feel good, am surfing again, and am nearly back to normal. No T so the drive is gone, but still ok with help of a little blue pill. Otherwise, hot flashes have greatly reduced and continence improved significantly. My liver enzymes ran up the past few months, probably from Zytiga, but I think they are leveling off as I don’t have the ‘hangover’ feeling anymore. Will know for sure as I have labs tomorrow.
I also don’t think about PCa as much anymore — I am focused again on living my life and just making peace with the cancer.
Going through this ordeal also helped me appreciate things more everyday -- on the darkest days when I was freaked out I found it helpful to just count all the little and big blessings in my world, including this forum. When my head was spinning this forum helped a lot.
Anyway, sorry about the long post but just wanted to share an update for anyone else coming down the trail....
