Some advice please

It takes about 3 - 4 months average to regain control after surgery, wear a pad until then and do your keegles to restrengthen the sphincter muscles.

If you had radiation, the incontinence will increase over time and it may take longer to recover.

If you place your specifics in your signature line (as mine are, below), we can see better what you have had done and answer any questions more accurately.

It gets better in time. You're still very close to surgery.

It can take months to fully recover.

Walking is good, but at this stage it can induce stress incontinence (as will lifting heavy items).

Drink plenty of walk, do your kegels, and walk. You may need pads in the short term.

Thanks for your replies and words of encouragement.
I guess I was just perplexed as to why I had been totally dry since the "procedure"and in control then all of a sudden l out for a walk and l lost control, in fact it happened twice on my 10 kilo walk. I have been walking between 5 and 10ks a day since the "procedure", so its not like I was doing anything new. I do drink approximately 3 litres of water a day.
I did have surgery on the 7 of last month, robotic.
At this stage I think it is unlikely that l will need radiation (nor have I had it up to this point).
Was just curious if anyone else experienced the initial dry then a loss of control some weeks later?
I spoke to the hospital and was told that the urinary tract infection that l have may have contributed to this incidence,

2 days after surgery I started walking the floor in the cancer ward, 1st lap with a very large, strong nurse holding onto me and me holding onto the I.V. stand pole. Next day it was just me and the pole. By the end of my 1 week stay there, I was walking all day every day lap after lap. Nursing staff said I broke some kind of record.

It’s the new normal. It will never be the same but it beats the alternative. I notice that my wife buys more bleach now apparently for the pee drips on my underwear.

Thanks for the words of encouragement fellas. Unfortunately I wasn't in the woods when my leak occurred, I was actually at the shops, as l had naively and smugly been told that l was in the 1% of men that have no leaks, so l sallied forth unawares that this may eventuate. I guess I want to stress the point that l was completely dry for the first two weeks after the removal of the catheter, THEN the leaks began, my understanding is that its usually the other way around. Having said al that l take on board what you have all said about the time and normalcy of my experiences. I guess I should be thankful that it has only happened a few times in a month. Actually its a month today since my "procedure" (as the hospital referred to it).
