We’ve all heard that exercise helps to reduce depression symptoms. A large Canadian study shows that going for walks is beneficial if, like me, you’re not interested in running.
The benefit for reducing depression symptoms topped out at 5,000 steps per day, and started showing a negative benefit above 16,000 steps.
I started walking about
6,000 steps four days a week a couple months ago. I was about
a month into ADT and I wanted to do at least a little something to mitigate some of the effects of not having testosterone. Between the walking and watching my food intake, I’ve lost 10 lbs. An unanticipated benefit has been improvement in my clinical depression symptoms.
