Time between ADT and Radiation treatment for SRT

Interested to know the typical time period between when SRT folks on this forum started ADT and then radiation.

It was about three months for me. Technically, my RT was adjuvant (not salvage) but I don't think that changes the timing. Adjuvant RT is done near the time of the surgery so the effects of the two treatments are combined. (ART usually finishes not more than six months after surgery.) The results of my post-op pathology were sufficiently worrisome that we didn't wait to see if I would recur.

I took Casodex for 1 month, then had a 1 month Lupron shot. I started SRT just 1 month after the first Lupron. After my first radiation session, I was given a 3 month Lupron shot. Good luck with your choice and keep us posted!

I've seen numbers all over the place on this. 1-3 months range is most reported.

Just two weeks for me. My post-op PSA was .40 and I had positive margins. I asked the RO about waiting what seemed like the standard 3 month period before starting SRT but he suggested we get started sooner and I was fine with that.

Good points around the differences between Adjuvant vs. later and its clear each of our circumstances are different....

I have been on Casodex and Lupron for couple months and treating RO seems pretty casual about getting things started on the radiation...problem is that its kind of hard to plan anything particularly with travel for business...my expectation was two months...have been rattling their cage but frustrated to have to do that...my patience meter has been running down a lot more quickly once I started ADT...

First Firmagon shot early December with RT beginning mid January. Finished six months ADT on May 3rd and RT on March 14th. Good luck.

SRT began for me exactly 1 month after my first shot

For me it was 2 months.

Neither ADT nor casual physicians help our patience levels at all. Good luck!

I started my ADT approximately 5 weeks prior to my SRT.
