Last test in May, it was .16. Now it’s, .22. Last Aug 2018 it was .08. Looks like hormone therapy is in my future as it may be metastatic.

Howard,
Time to get a medical oncologist onboard, if you haven't already. If the PSA trend continues the biggest question will be when to initiate treatment. The next question will be which treatment to choose. Current standard of care is Lupron combined with either Zytiga or Xtandi or chemo.

Make sure your MO is very experienced with PCa.

I may give the Axium a shot once PSA is high enough. My oncologist says that one of the lymph nodes may light up.

I think you mean an Axumin PET scan. Axumin is the the trade name for fluciclovine, a synthetic amino acid analogue with a radioisotope Florine 18 atom attached. Just got that scan yesterday, my team wants to see if the beast is still local or has gone metastatic. I got the go ahead for the PET when my last read hit 2.27. The prep is a bit odd.

I am thinking I am up for a game of proton beam whack-a-mole for a few years.......

What was your pre surgery PSA.
Your journey has been pretty unfortunate so far Esp after you got a great path report.
Hope the PSA rise is very very slow.

I PSA wasn’t terribly high. Around 4.8 or so. Nov will be 5 years. Yes, it has been a bumpy ride. Probably gonna take me out.

Sorry to hear this Howard. Hopefully you’ve got a long while before you need to start ADT, or even better, they find a node, zap it and you are done. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. 🤞

We had surgery just 2 months apart, very similar pathology. And now I’m waiting, right behind you, to see if adt+SRT worked for me🤞

4.8 is not high by any stretch. As Prato said, hope they find it and zap it for good. I have seen many folks on this forum on ADT going for a long long time.

And , Based on my readings ADT works better for lower Gleason and works longer after debulking (surgeory) .

...and newer therapies are on the way and will arrive by then. So you may just be fine.

Thanks, I met with my oncologist yesterday. She said not to panic, that it going up slowly and I may never need additional treatment but once it moves up into range of the new scanner we can locate PC. If in lymph nodes, it can be zapped.

I enrolled in a new, sensitive PSMA PET clinical trial Aug/18 when my PSA was 1.17. 2 regional nodes were identified with small lesions.URO/surgeon said that RT would be a better option as they would be difficult to remove. Had RT/ADT this Fall/Winter and like Prato, will wait to see if RT has done the job. RO said that if my PSA numbers go up, I can still get another PET scan to identify where the cancer is and possibly radiate the area.
