Does anyone know of (preferably newer ) studies of time to castrate resistance by Gleason score?

I tried to see if there might be a citation referencing that 40% statement in the original journal paper from Skypilot’s topic, but it’s costs $35 to access the complete paper.

If the information you’re seeking has been categorized, it would be interesting to see. As with many things PCa, it may not follow a strict pattern. I have to wonder if Gleason scores from pathology reports or biopsies are good predictors at the palliative treatment stage.

I forgot to add that my MO said the best predictor for the success of palliative ADT is how quickly the PSA goes to undetectable.

I ask bc I read once a few years ago that the avg time to CR was 2 1/2 to 3 years.
Being I’ve been at it 6 years now, just curious if times have gotten longer or I’m on borrowed time.

Things we think about. darn depressing crap of a disease.

My previous MO said he had a patient for whom Lupron worked for 17 years. You just never know.

Yes, I also want to know these survival/response curves but have to keep reminding myself that they all represent groups of patients and I am a group of one. Will I do better or worse than average? Don't know. Something to keep in mind: studies published today are based on patients treated years ago and followed. Treatments have gotten much better so we can assume or at least hope that the curves will improve so our results today will be better than those of patients treated years ago. Which brings to mind that some patients who began this "journey" (I prefer roller-coaster ride) years ago with seemingly hopeless disease are still with us today. They also are groups of one.

Agreed about group of one and nothing should be applied to myself that is based on aggregated statistics.

It's just that, my whole life I have been as average as average can be.

I have never been an outlier.
