I am indeed grateful for a lot of things. Overall, my health is pretty good right now, my two sons who live with me are both healthy, and other family members, many of whom live nearby, are also all doing well.
In particular, I'm grateful that my 98-year-old mother is happy and has adjusted well to the ALF she moved into a few months ago. (It was time). She didn't want to at first, but once she was there she adapted well. I'm grateful for that.
My retirement has gone very well since I quit work in 2007 (yes, we've been talking about retirement lately) and I'm very grateful for that.
I'm grateful for all those things and more.
And I do include among the "more" the opportunity to post and respond regularly here on this wonderful forum, and I do hope that what I occasionally have said here from time to time has hopefully helped someone a little.
I keep doing it because I see it as my chance to "pay it forward," as we have discussed here in the past, that if I myself have been fortunate enough to get the upper hand over this thing, at least for now, then if I can possibly assist others by talking to them from my own experience, then I am very grateful to be able to do so.
“Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” – Henry Ward Beecher.
