Any advice for thoose about to under go spot radiation on bone mets.

Warm socks - those rooms can get cold when you're just lying there.

Honestly, most RT is a non-event. You walk in, get on machine, watch things move around for 5 minutes and then go home.

My other advice is to complain about everything. Sometimes small weird side effects popup and in many cases the RO can give you something to help you get through. The staff at most radiation centers are super helpful and will do everything they can to make you comfortable.

Hopefully the radiation treatment is Proton Therapy.
With proton therapy, there is less radiation dose outside of the tumor and limits the radiation damage to nearby healthy tissues. The side effects are minimal.

I am not aware of (peer-reviewed) medical evidence that protons are 'better' than photons for spot treatments.

Radiation is radiation whether proton or photon. Most PCa radiation is photon as it has proven to be better and less expensive. Radiation therapy for cancer has become very routine and effective and common. You will do very well and not feel a thing. I had double radiation inside and out for three months. I have no side effects nine years later and am cancer free.
