142 passed away last night

I said it on another thread -sometimes it's really tough being here. I didn't know him, but he "moderated" me few times, which I probably deserved. I believe he gave it all he had until the very end.

Oh my, oh my! So truly sorry to hear this!

I guess we all suspected it was coming, with the posts that were being made here describing that things were not going well for 142.

But, as with people we know in our own real lives, when it actually happens, it still comes as a shock.

This Internet forum, and I suppose all Internet forums for that matter, are curious creatures in that so many of us have never met others here in person, but there still exists a kind of "online acquaintanceship" among us. Yes, I believe that's a very real thing.

So that when one of us passes on, there is indeed a shock, and a regret. Not as vivid or as personal as it would be for a real person in our own real lives, but a regret nonetheless.

Is there such a thing as "cyberregret?" If there is, that's what we all are feeling now for the loss of 142.

May he rest in peace.

I had the honor of spending some time with my fellow moderator at 3 GFMPH gatherings. He was a genuine guy. He truly cared about others, and that showed so much here, there are so many of us that he has helped, myself included. He will be sorely missed.
Godspeed Buddy, May you Rest In Peace. You always be remembered around here.
