Infrequent poster at best, so just thought I'd provide a little additional on my journey with the "beast." My signature obviously contains my primary data. I would like to note that going into this I was provided a biopsy report which listed me as being a G9 with 4 + 5 for 42% of core. RO advised standard treatment of RT (V-MAT), brach and 24 months ADT. At the last minute, I changed my mind for treatment and opted for surgery. So, following RALP received news that I was downgraded (?) to G7 (4+3) with adverse findings of EPE and SVI. Signature says where I've been for PSA, SRT and ADT. Before I go further I'd like to point out again, that treatment decisions are personal and individual and what I underwent and when was my decision. No treatment regret.
Moved in 07/19 to new state. Last uPSA at treatment site 06/19 was < 0.010 and next check was in 09/19 when Quest lab coded order wrong and I received a standard PSA of < 0.1 Not overly concerned as I had an upcoming new treatment team appointment the following month and in 10/19 my uPSA was < 0.006 (LC). Initial doctor and I didn't have good vibes so I requested a new more experienced PCa specialist with appointment in January, So, in 01/20 my uPSA was again < 0.006 (LC).
New doctor stated he'd reviewed all documents I had provided on treatments to date and stated that from his review and professional judgement all actions were correct. He wants another uPSA in 3 months with followup appointment with him in 6 months. Stated it wouldn't be necessary to see him earlier regardless of next PSA results as no decisions, if needed, could be made with results from one test. His protocol is 3 month PSA checks with 6 month visitation for first two years following completion of RT treatment for undetectable. Following the two years, hopefully, it transitions to annual PSA and visits.
I don't dwell on my involvement with the "Beast" as that, to me is counter productive. It is was it is! I have no choice in the matter. Fortunately, I have no treatment SEs, at this time, other than our old friend ED.... Rather long so will close. May the good Lord bless and care for each of us. Respectfully.
