Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to share a happy news. DAD is finally undetectable with latest PSA of 0.001 (down from 0.103 in November 2019). Going to visit the MO tomorrow for the future course of action.

PSA and treatment history:
June 24, 2019 - 114 (orchiectomy/lupron and casodex for 3 weeks)
August 03, 2019 - 4.46 (started 1000 mg abiraterone/zytiga and prednisone 10 mg)
September 06, 2019 - 0.837 (one month on abiraterone/zytiga - sugar was high so lowered prednisone from 10 mg to 5mg)
November 06, 2019 - 0.103 (3 months on abiraterone/zytiga - liver enzymes were elevated so stopped abiraterone for 2 weeks -referred to liver specialist - once clearance received - restarted abi. but MO asked to take only 750 mg with some light meal (breakfast with ghee/healthy fat added) as was scheduled to travel abroad and said would require to monitor liver numbers with full dose.
February 10, 2020- 0.001 (liver numbers seem to be fine, cholesterol has increased though - visiting MO tomorrow, hopefully he will be as happy with the numbers as i am)

That's good news! Can I ask your location and the name of the lab or test method that measured your dad's PSA down to 0.001? I'm interested in ultrasensitive PSA tests, and I haven't come across a commercial, non-research test that measures that low. Could it be that the value was, perhaps, 0.010?

Thanks a lot everyone. I feel this forum has been GODsent for me as it was the first place which helped me to digest the diagnosis and gave me hope and has since been my go to place to gain knowledge and support about everything advanced PCA throws at the patient and his family. Since i have always openly shared my emotional turmoils here it felt imperative to share the good news as well.

Djin we are based at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is 0.001 ng/ml. The report states the method of testing as PROSTATE SPECIFIC ANTIGEN BY CLIA ON CENTAUR (Earlier the same lab used CMIA on Architect but that also gave a result of 0.103 ng/ml).

DILUTION PROTOCOL (as mentioned in the report):
At our lab with kit, manual dilution protocol has been validated for PSA up to 1:20 dilution and result up to 2000 NG/ML. After above dilution, it will be done manually and because of Ag-Ab reaction curve it may be erroneous if diluted after validated dilution.
