So I wanted to post something about
my experience with Lupron.
I had my first 1 month shot on 1/14/20 and I went back for my 3 month shot on 2/13/20.
So far so good. I have been to the gym every day since 1/14. I am still losing weight. Down about
50 pounds (1500 net calories/day). No hot flashes. After the gym i feel good but tired.
So I just wanted to post something benign about
hormone therapy. With the exercise, so far, its been ok (although i dont know my T number). I know alot of guys really suffer with it, and thats real, but its possible that it can be ok as well.

I shouldn't say this but there's a feeling at first that you dodged a bullet. this aint so bad. what a bunch of whiners those guys are....
but keep up the exercise and great attitude because that will help

A number of studies have concluded that exercise is the best way to combat the unwanted effects of ADT. Keep it up!

You are wise to set a daily exercise routine.
Based on my original diagnosis, revealed below in my health history, I am starting my 7th year of continuous ADT injections.
Upon diagnosis, those first ADT shots brought my original PSA number down from over 100 down to single digits very rapidly. Amazingly, ADT then brought my PSA down to below 1, and then into the decimal range.
It was stunning to watch the PSA numbers tumble down. Even my doctors marvelled at the power of the ADT shots to bring my PSA down. At that point, I believe ADT shots saved my life. In time, the cancer that infiltrated my lungs was "starved and strangled" by the ADT shots, as evidenced by scans.
Subsequent treatments have helped me since, but the ADT shots became my first powerful "sword and shield" in this battle.

You're on the relatively short term ADT, so you already have light in the tunnel. No worries and continue as you are doing.

I found that most any physical activity worked, not just planned exercise. When I was sedentary was when the hot flashes or feeling of low energy were the worst. So I learned to just go outdoors for a brief walk or some other form of physical activity like running the vacuum or spending five or ten minutes in the garage cleaning out a car.
I also found that alcohol would often bring on Hot flashes. I greatly reduced alcohol, caffeine, and carbonated and acidic drinks and foods. That seemed to help.

I recently completed a 6 month HT treatment period in combo with SRT. From what I gather experiences are quite varied. In my case I felt a bit sideways during treatment (just not quite myself) but tolerable. Strangely, I have been very fatigued since the end of the 6 month period. I kept quite active physically (lots of running etc.) during the 6 months but ever since have been really dragging. This manifests itself in a very significant decline in what I can accomplish in my physical exercise routine (not my motivation to stay active). Also just feeling run down. I wish you the best experience possible and it sounds like things are off to a good start.

I am in month 27 of ADT. I was like you when I started-workout often and lost 18 pounds. Then lupron weight gain happened and recently a bad back. I lust started back at a great workout routine and no doubt about
it-the more I workout, the better I feel. Wishing you continued good workouts, losing weight and feeling good.
