BD - sounds like you are back among the living now. Those odd feelings, aches, etc go on for a while but fade away. Same with things like wondering how long you can go on a road trip before nature calls or how you will do on a plane flight. Riding a bike is another good test. Good luck with your next steps.

Update:
Just returned home from having my dear catheter removed.
Whew! Glad that phase is over. Seem to be pretty dry but don't want to raise any victory flags just yet. One day at a time. My path report hasn't come back yet but i expect to hear about that in the next week or so (they said it may be delayed a bit due to my volunteering to allow the specimen to be included in a study comparing path findings with prior mpMRI findings.....). I'll let you all know what I hear.

Glad everything is going well for you. Best of luck for a great path report. Be sure to get a written copy of the complete, original report and not a summary-- it is more important than your biopsy findings.

I knew you wouldn't miss that cath removal appt. Glad that's done and you are on the mend. No matter how good you feel, take everything slow. You had major surgery and need time to heal.

if you live near the hospital where your surgery was done, pop over and get the entire surgical report when you get a chance.
Never know when you'll need it in the future, especially if you relocate

Update:
Feeling really good these days. Almost too good. I'm kinda wearing myself out during the day and hitting the wall at night. Not over-exerting, just over active. Still waiting for my path report and expect to hear from the hospital this next week.
Day 5 after catheter out..... Continence has been good. I've had mostly really dry days but yesterday I did experience what I would consider a step back, lots of evening dribbles and a generally weak feeling in my pelvic floor. It had been one of those over active days.... Went to bed early that night and woke up feeling stronger. I've had some blood in my urine on occasion - mostly a very little right at the beginning but a few that were downright gory. My stream is a little hesitant cause I think i'm still a bit sore from the catheter but things seem to be getting more comfortable. Learning some lessons when it comes to coffee - i can't drink it like i used to. 1 maybe 1.5 cups is all i can take now. No more 6 cup mornings.... Stuff kinda tears me up nowadays.... Oh well.
Re ED: I'm on day four of 5 mg Cialis and I've had some really encouraging events on this front. No victory flags yet but I've experienced a nocturnal erection (80%er) and even had a milder one with the catheter still in. Being afraid it's too good to be true and being unsure of protocol for this, I'm treating it like your team treats a pitcher going into the late innings with a no hitter - don't look at him, don't talk to him. Appreciate the good fortune but ignore him.
Hoping this early success indicates the long term success we all hope for for each other.... As with the continence, there will probably be good days and bad days on this front too. Here's to the good days - for all of us.

bd - Good to hear that you are cruising along. Those paybacks for over-activity go away with time, same with the coffee issue. I did not drink any coffee (just green tea) for a few weeks after surgery and when I started again, 1 cup was about it also. Same with any beer or wine. Once I got out a month or two, I started to stress test the system and could drink a couple of coffees in AM or have a beer or wine in evening with no problem after working back into it. I do not drink anywhere near as much coffee or beer/wine as before but then I am more health conscious now since the event and self imposed fast of such items before and after surgery. Lost some weight in the process so that was good for a newly retired person.

Blood in urine can be related to activity so maybe you need to slow it down a bit? Let the doctor's office know as it should not happen for more than a couple of days from my experience. Otherwise, most of what you are feeling is pretty typical of the first weeks after surgery and your body is learning about your "new normal". Give it time and take it slow.

BD--the ED news is also encouraging--similar to my experience except that I had no surprises while the catheter was in. I'd wait a few more weeks--you don't want to cause any injury with overexertion. That being said, if you have a willing partner who is willing to do the active parts--then doing some light play is certainly beneficial. Be aware that it is possible to leak urine at the time of climax---it happens, so until you know if that is something that happens to you, protection is a good idea.
