First time around, leuprolide chemo was a big hit indeed, I really detested how I felt. Second time around it is no big deal, quality of life remains high. I still do my job, take care of my responsibilities and even retain some libido despite not having any testosterone. (That last is restricted to my loving wife, though.)
For me, kicking the can down the road for a few years works, but.....I keep that super - healthy diet and exercise program along with other intercessions as needed. I am aware that makes me an outlier. I am getting used to other people my age hitting the marble orchard to push up daisies. The choices we make along our way.
When I started this adventure, the docs got together and decided to throw everything they had at it (I got the trifecta). In their estimation, if PCa didn't take me out I would likely keep on chugging for many more years. When my PSA hit 3.3 on that linear track, I went back on leuprolide chemo (last Nov) then Xtandi this Jan. Likely on both to the end of this year. I can handle that, no real problem.
