BTW: IMPORTANT TIP: many of us on Medicare, when traveling overseas, have to buy travel insurance that covers health insurance. When my cruise was cancelled, I contacted the insurer, and they were great , I had a full refund in my hands within 2 weeks,
Very good point! And, further tip...many (but not all) credit cards will cover trip cancellation and/or trip interruption if not caused by a pre-existing condition. That can cover air, hotel, cruise, etc. But they don't cover the medical costs and/or medical evacuation from overseas if needed. Those can be HUGE expenses. But the good news is that because these happen so infrequently you can insure for these at very low costs. AMEX insurance for example offers a la carte travel insurance and will offer you and spouse a medical cost/medical evacuation policy on the cheap.
