Its been awhile since i have posted about my situation.i am still on xtandi for the 5th year, but my psa has increased to 32,from a low of .020.my scans show no growth of the mets.doc wants to continue on xtandi for awhile yet.he says lynparza would lower my psa some.has anyone here tried it?

Have you been tested for the BRCA mutation?

You might want to change your subject to Lymparza to get more specific responses.

i havent had any scans yet after starting the lymparza.my psa continues to rise now to a level of 50+.side effects are a little rougher than the xtandi.i cant taste food nearly as good on the lymparza,but i am tolerating the other side effects pretty well.still no energy.i get scans this month,hopefully they will show some improvement in diminishing the spots on my bones.

looks like the lynparza was a bust.psa went up again,scans showed spots were slightly larger.i start taxotere next week.heres hoping i can take the side effects and it works.

Lynparza is a PARP inhibitor, one of the new genetically targeted treatments..I've been on it now for 2 weeks.. To early to tell if it's working..I'm running out of options....I did get a good response from the chemo ( taxotere) but side-effects were rough. Total hair loss and nuroplasty in my feet which you need to be careful with..It can be crippling.. Cabazitazel (Jevtana) worked better with fewer side-effects..Good luck to you..
