Hello GYVR55 ---
You have found a great "circle of support" here.
We are here to encourage you and support you.
I have been on ADT shots for seven continuous years, since "diagnosis day" ...
I am mindful of the side effects.
You mentioned fatigue as a side effect ...
Daily walks, for me, go a long ways towards mitigating lethargy --- so any form of physical activity that you like can help bolster energy --- yardwork, walking the dog, visiting the gym, gardening, exploring a trail ...
I would personally be VERY cautionary about stepping back from treatments at this point, despite the temptation.
When I started ADT shots, my doctor explained how they begin to "starve and strangle" cancer cells, by depriving them of their favorite fuel source --- testosterone.
A "red flag" I noticed in your post --- your doctor didn't recommend stepping away. You described it as his OBJECTION.
That leaves me guarded and cautionary about the idea of stepping back from your current course of treatments.
Other comrades here have shared a GOLD STANDARD idea ---- if in doubt, simply get a second opinion. Another "set of eyes" on one's case can be invaluable.
We all want the very best for you. My health history is shown beneath my signature.
A friend of mine, with a similar case as mine, decided to "step away" from treatments for a while --- it's called "treatment fatigue" ---- in "stepping back" from his treatments,, his condition worsened, and his PSA flared up markedly.
He still regrets his "treatment vacation" ...
It's a cautionary tale that encourages me to STAY ON TRACK.
My doctor watches over me like a hawk --- and I run labs and see him every four weeks, like clockwork ------ but seven years later, I am still here.
Each case is different, but consider another doctor's opinion, if you have doubts, and seek out the medical expertise that will help you make an informed decision.
Wanting the very, very best for you ... sending my encouragement, support and best wishes ...
Stop by often --- post whenever you wish --- we'll leave the front porch light on for you, for your next visit here.
We all stand alongside you ... we're all in this together!
