Cyclone- when it rains, it pours sometimes. Your family is having a rough go of it and I wish you strength in dealing with all the unknowns and hope for best results from the recent plasma treatment. Parents look to their kids for strength and compassion during these times so keep up the good work on your end.

Cyclone--Thanks for updating us on your parents hospitalization and progress in their fight with the coronavirus. It's so difficult when it hits home. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

about volunteering for the Blood Bank. This is one of the best volunteer jobs around. I plan to do that as soon as my days of babysitting pre-school grandkids during the week (on hold during the pandemic) are over. I donated blood four times a year for 50 years ( I was excluded for a year after PCa surgery), but gave it up two years ago.

Interesting story --- since this thread centers around the issue of wearing a mask, in these times were are facing ...

Before I begin, it's important to state --- I have a lifelong respect for police officers and public servants.

That being said, I got "jammed up" in a busy intersection during rush hour traffic this week.

I had a green light arrow to make a left-hand turn, but got "jammed up" by cars ahead of me --- which meant I was then in the middle of the intersection, waiting to complete the turn, unexpectedly.

Meanwhile, the arrow turned to red ---- of course!

After getting through the intersection, a young police officer pulled me over.

I put on my medical mask, and rolled down my window, as she approached my car.

Long story short ---- I held my ground & explained the situation.

She asked for my license, insurance card, and registration --- we all know the drill.

She ultimately decided I needed a written "warning" --- but no fines, and no fees.

I then decided SHE needed a "warning" --- from me! Here's why ...

I explained I had just left the oncology center, to see my doctor --- and did not approve of her speaking to me in such close proximity --- leaning so close to my driver's side car window --- without wearing a mask in these times.

I told her our state just skyrocketed to the top of the corona "hot spot" listings, ranked by the NEW YORK TIMES, and that when interacting with the public, she needed to "mask up" ...

By the time she returned to my car --- to hand me the written "warning" --- she had sheepishly put on a mask.

This time, she stammered and stuttered --- and could not look ME in the eye.

That's probably best --- because by THIS time --- my eyes were GLARING!

Alas ... just had to share this experience ---- hopefully my blood pressure has leveled off by now !

Well, in the two states I have lived, you're still clear to make the turn if you're in the intersection when the light changes. But, I'm not a Lawyer.

sounds like to me he was "trapped" in the intersection. i'm pretty sure that's illegal
