Say it isn't so. The TdF is again investigating doping allegations during the 2020 Tour. Nothing bothers me more in sports than cheating.

Big night in Tampa last night, as the Lightning Bolts won the Stanley cup. Not that I'm a big hockey fan or anything, but it's always good to see the home team win. Who would think that we'd be watching ice hockey in 90 degree heat?

Anyway, big congrats to a bunch of guys who don't have to make "political statements" to be in the headlines.

Yep, maybe that unlikely combination is part of what makes the Lightning's success over the years so interesting. I remember one Lightning commentator once remarking " ... follow the Lightning and help keep ice hockey a southern sport!"

But actually this post is out of place here, since winning Lord Stanley's cup is a something, and not a nothing!

Understood. It really is something! I had made brief mention of it ten days ago in another thread (One of the best things about 2020) but other than this, I'm ready to forget about 2020 already!

Another great thing about the Tour De France is the racers don't have to have special roads built for them, they ride on everyday roads that you and I would ride. They endure every kind of weather only stopping early one day last year because the mud covered the road. More people watch the TDF than any other sport in the world yet they don't have to have the latest comfort indoor stadiums! It's amazing to watch how in other countries they go to great lengths to save buildings that are 100's of years old but here in America we have to destroy anything that's a 100 yrs old. Look at how many schools that are built almost bomb proof and would last another 500 years but we have to knock down and put up something that will be lucky to make it 50 yrs because supposedly we can't make it modern enough for today's technology! really sad!

My CHIEFS are still undefeated!!!

My CATS #EMAW are still undefeated in the Big 12. I know it's only two games, but we beat two teams we were supposed to lose to. Almost in the top 25, we don't quite deserve it yet. I'm good with that. Rankings mean nothing except for the big race to the top. We lost out when we lost to Ark State.

The last two months have gone by so quickly! My next test is in a month. Oh well, just another test in a long string of them.
More importantly,
Today would have been my dear mother's 99th birthday. Fourteen years passes by so quickly. I'll see you and dad one day, but not today (probably not anyways).

I saw a story today that noted that we have lost 3 significant MLB pitchers in the last week or so. Tom Seaver, Whitey Ford, and Bob Gibson. Two awesome starters and the ultimate relief pitcher all in the heavenly bullpen.

Play Ball! (Imagine Seaver and Gibson pitching both ends of a double header. Might as well never even show up to bat).

My favorite relief pitcher was Tim McGraw. Not due to his great pitching, but his dramatics. His flapping his glove on his chest after , oh carp, I can't remember why he did that.

But Seaver and Gibson, awesome. I'm sure Whitey was too, but I never saw him pitch.

Aleph, not for NOTHING, but I think you meant Tug McGraw. Tim is his son, the country singer star. I admire him for his talent, and also for being married to Faith Hill.

Tug was one of my favorites too. I think of him every time I drive by Citifield, and see the big “Ya Gotta Believe“ sign.

That was a great song I never get tired of hearing it. But Tim McGraw also sings this song called My Little Girl. That was the song that I dance to with my daughter at her wedding so I will never forget it. I’m working on learning to play it (guitar)

That is an amazing song also.

My daughter's wedding almost happened twice this year, buy COVID happened. I would have loved to have danced with her to that! Tim McGraw an awesome singer, so many wonderful songs.

But instead, they eloped, and we had a wedding party this last weekend.

THis was rolling around in my head earlier, posting it to maybe get it out of my head. Not meant for anybody here.

Because I haven't really been keeping up, has the Big 10 started back up yet. I had heard that they were going to. And if so, how's Iowa (right) doing? I've been so out of it lately, I can't keep my facts straight. Or is it ISU? I know they are doing great.
