Poll Covid-19 vs HWPC members and supplements

BillyBob, I don't know how much the person who died was taking. It was a cousin who lives several states away, who was 40 years old and otherwise healthy. I only know he was taking supplements because he was sure they were going to save him, and posted on FB almost daily that 'mega-doses' of vitamin C and D were the answer. It gave him so much confidence that he flaunted social distancing, mask wearing and crowd avoidance. He was sure this wasn't a big deal because he'd read 'somewhere on the internet' that taking supplements would prevent him from becoming very sick if he even got sick at all.

Medical professionals INCLUDING high profile docs have been screaming for us to wear our masks, avoid crowds and social distance since almost the beginning of this thing. Those who claim they haven't are less than honest and putting themselves and others at risk, My cousin would fall into that category.

FYI, his wife and daughter also contracted covid. The daughter came through it fine. The wife was hospitalized, and is still dealing with the effects now (about 7 weeks later). I have no idea if they took supplements or not, although if I had to guess, I'd say they were. Personally, I think the answer is stay home, wear a mask if you MUST go out, and avoid crowds. There's a light at the end of the tunnel. Take supplements if it makes you feel better. Maybe they help, maybe they don't. But the vaccine is on it's way. We just need to exercise a little restraint for a little while longer so as not a overwhelm our first-line workers.

Russia announced that its Sputnik Covid-19 vaccine was 95% effective. Article touted the cheap cost (about $10), but I think the Oxford/Astrazeneca is about $3 -- much less than the Pfizer. It's great that we'll have multiple sources, which can only aid achieving world-wide vaccination.

No sign of Covid-19 in anyone whose supplements approach I know. I take most every supplement mentioned, but do not remember which were started because of Covid-19 and which because of PC.
