Indeed, Labcorp's new lowest uPSA result is <0.014, a change from the previous <0.006.

However, I would point out that a change one's results from a lower "undetectable" to a higher onedoes not tell you whether your PSA increased, decreased, or remained the same. It's just a loss of information. In other words, your PSA could now be 0.001 or it could be 0.013. That's all a <0.014 tells you.

In my case, my PSA right before the recent Labcore change was 0.015. My last result was <0.014. Given my post-op PSA history, I think my "actual" value would be closer to 0.013 than, say, 0.007 (my nadir 3 years ago), but that's just a guess.

BTW, a PSA nadir of <0.010, rather than >0.010 give you statistically better odds of not encountering BCR in the future. For those of us high-risk men who use the uPSA test to follow out post-op trend, the only real downside in the <0.006 to <0.014 change might be this minor loss of what your nadir may predict.

But only one lower limit at a given time. For years Labcorp's lower limit for their uPSA test was <0.014. Then they changed to <0.006 in 2016 or thereabouts. Now they are back to <0.014.
