and we still don't provide enough testing.
I wanted to relate what my experience has been like here in NJ the virus death capital (per capita) of the USA when it comes to testing.
Back in October I received a call from a contact tracer saying someone I came across was infected. That same day I was tested, not once....but twice. I was able to get an appointment at a local rite aid and also pop in for a test at a
location the county provides (without an appointment). Within 24 hours I had results from both tests. I took two tests because the chances of both being wrong are pretty low.
To get cleared for my hernia surgery I was tested again in late November. My appointment was around noon. I had results by midnight.
Those experiences were the complete opposite of where things were last February/March while I was undergoing salvage radiation for PCa. The Thursday before my treatment started I came down with a fever, spiked overnight, and went away the next morning leaving me with this dry cough for about
a week. I asked Fox Chase for a test and they said the few tests that were available were for hospitalized patients and I was refused a test.
Based on my personal experience I summarily reject any categorization about
not having access to “enough testing.”.
