I feel very fortunate regarding my prostate situation and current quality of life, but I do have several "comorbidities" that remind me daily that, no matter how good one feels at nearly 76 years of age, our lives on this earth are not eternal.
It has often been pointed out by many on this forum that after dealing with cancer, one tends to value each day more seriously than before, and that's a positive outcome from a very negative situation.
By the way, I always enjoy reading your posts. I live directly east of you near on the Illinois side of the Wisconsin line, so maybe it's a question of latitude.
