Team Jeff,
I am shocked that other customers did not help. I remember a similar incident at an Applebee's when a lady fell . I was beside myself trying to get aid to her before the paramedics came. Incidents like this and like Jeff's I say to myself, "There but for the grace....go I".
I bit less of a story happen to me two weeks ago, I missed the last step at home and rolled my ankle. It hurt so bad I just lay there screaming in pain until a room mate came and helped me up. All I could think about was the Doctors words several years ago to me "You have very weak bones and could be subject to broken bones if you ever fall."
Believe me I cried all the way to urgent care. Fortunately it was only a bad sprain.
Tell Jeff to hold his head up. Many of us would have done the same thing. Especially with all the Lupron shots, I even cry at Hallmark Movies!

i think many people are shocked into inaction when they see someone fall. i know i have been in the past and felt bad about
it later. recently i was outside dining at a ramen joint. i looked across the parking lot at my newish car -- i'm still in the overly protective phase -- and there was a guy on the ground next to my car and a lady trying to help him get back into his wheelchair.
i was concerned they were so close to my car and i wondered if his wheelchair hit my car and then i thought: "they need help". there were several diners who saw what happened who just kept eating. i walked over and the gal held the wheelchair while i got him seated.
he was dirty and smelled of stale urine. i had assumed the gal was his caretaker but she wasn't. of course i checked to see if my car was damaged and then i walked back to finish my lunch. the waiter thanked me for helping the guy and i guess i felt good about
it too because doing the right thing is its own reward
