OK, I have not done one of these in a long time. Why? Well, there were just so many that I was beating a dead horse. But, I still never hear anything about
it from our government authorities or most news sources. Also, I was often concentrating on possibly even more important things like vitamin C, zinc and quercetin. And IV vitamin C if anyone could get it. And one or two other potentially very helpful approaches.
But I posted about
the craziness in the VERY highly vaxed Scotland and asked why. Then it dawned on me how most Scots were very likely pretty deficient in D, just as US blacks and nursing home residents are, but maybe even more so. And that got me looking at NEW studies on D. So here it is. It is really dirt simple. Our country and the world is in Hades, with people fighting tooth and nail over vaccines and masks, and needing additional vaccines, getting ready to mask up again, and they just won't tell the people about
these things, about
the scientific evidence.
So, as reported July 2021, "All individuals ≥ 18 years old living in Barcelona-Central Catalonia (n = 4.6 million) supplemented with cholecalciferol or calcifediol from April 2019 to February 2020 were compared with pr
opensity score-matched untreated controls.". 4.6 million? WOW! At least no one will call it a small study and invalid, maybe. Scroll down to tables 6 and 7, to compare those who took enough D to reach the minimum blood level of 30 ng/ml. (mine was 81 when last checked, but I have backed off a little). These are compared to the non supplementing group with 20 ng/ml or less, a common reading(or less) for most folks who don't supplement. Some got the Cholecalciferol version of D and some got the Calcifediol, but the key is actual blood levels. Which is why there were plenty of folks who supplemented(with varying doses) and saw no significant benefits. One person can reach 30 by taking 2000 IUs(I did), another might need a lot more to reach that #, and sun exposure is another huge variable. So, getting to a minimum of 30 ng/ml seems to be the key. Which makes total sense when you consider how much D our bodies can generate after 30 minutes on the beach, 10,000 to 20,000 IUs. So we are designed to have plenty, it would seem.
EDITED:
Look at table 7 (calcifediol-supplemented patients who reach 30) or table 7 (calcifediol-supplemented patients who reached 30)
compared to those who did not supplement. Go to bottom row left and observe mortality from Covid: 0.5% for the D supplemental group who reached 30, and 1.3% for the non D group.
That is 2.16 times greater mortality (EDIT: error, I think that is actually 2.6 greater mortality, correct me if I'm wrong, sorry for the error) for those who did not take D. And I can't help but suspect that if they broke it down to people who were > 40 ng/ml, or 50, or 60, that these results would be even more spectacular, but I am speculating. But, yes, I do call cutting COVID-19 mortality by
more than half by nothing more than taking enough D to raise levels to 30 ng/ml spectacular. If the entire USA and world had been informed to do this one thing, and if most did it (cheap and easy), how many lives would that possibly have saved?
And the mind boggles to consider the possibilities if C, and zinc and quercetin were also used. And maybe even that Nobel prize associated, FDA approved prescript
ion drug which has safely been given to hundreds of millions over 50+ years, and done enormous good, CDC approved to be given to ALL refugees before entering America. That wonder drug(which may or may not help with Covid, but I wish more docs had tried it to find out) which is now being consistently demonized by most authorities and news media, as only a horse de-wormer. Imagine the possibilities if all of these things had been tried, and if the people had been informed to look into the non prescript
ion items(like D and C) for themselves? But no, it's not gonna happen. We are only concerned with vaccines and mono clonal antibodies, after the super expensive Remdesivir was found to be of little help.

The rate of SARS-CoV2 infection was significantly lower in vitamin D-sufficient patients supplemented with cholecalciferol (309/9474 [3.3%]) than in patients vitamin D deficient not receiving vitamin D supplements (430/7616 [5.6%]; HR 0.66 [CI 95% 0.57–0.77], p < 0.001 in multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analysis).
Similarly, vitamin D-sufficient patients on cholecalciferol supplementation had lower risk of severe COVID-19 (65/9474 [0.7%] vs 99/7616 [1.3%]; HR 0.72 [0.52–1.00]; p = 0.050), and lower COVID-19 mortality (56/9474 [0.6%] vs 96/7616 [1.3%]; HR 0.66 [CI 95% 0.46–0.93], p = 0.018) compared to vitamin D-deficient unsupplemented patients (Table6)....................

In conclusion, in this large, population-based study, we observed that cholecalciferol or calcifediol supplementation seem to be beneficial against SARS-CoV2 infection, COVID-19 severity and COVID-19 mortality in patients achieving serum 25OHD levels ≥ 30 ng/ml."..................................................................................................
Brothers, by all means, get your vaccines and then get the boosters. But regardless of any of that, whether you do or don't for whatever reason, and especially considering how many vaccinated are coming down with Covid, please AT LEAST make sure you are not deficient in D. And if you will consider it, maybe look into C, zinc and quercetin, etc. It still should be remembered that 17 of 18 Covid patients in ICU, when they decided to check, were UNDETECTABLE for vitamin C. The 1 out of 18 was only severely low, but detectable.
Be safe, stay well!
