Hello, Gold Horse ----
It's affirming affirming to read your update, as you mark SIXTEEN YEARS of survivorship!
We have new members here, who will read your update --- and draw inner strength and fortitude, from a long-term survivor like you.
I was also diagnosed in my 40s, as you were, Gold Horse. I am just now stepping into my ninth year of survivorship. I am rowing the lifeboat in your wake ... and I will keep rowing, just as you have been doing, all these years.
Something I share with friends who face new health diagnosis:
"I can't promise you that it's always going to be easy, but I can tell you it's worth THE FIGHT!"
I saw a survivor's t-shirt this past year that inspired me, emblazoned with this message:
# BELIEVE IN THE FIGHT!
Those words resonated with me, and your story is a testament to the GOOD FIGHT!
Stay proactive --- trust in your doctors --- update your labs on a timely basis --- and keep KICKING THAT CAN down the road, Gold Horse!
Mark those survivorship milestones, along the way --- and keep living life to the fullest.
SIXTEEN YEARS of survivorship! Ka-POW! Ka-BOOM!
Keep that fire lit within you --- your story helps keep that beacon LIT, Gold Horse!
Yours is a story of H-O-P-E ----- keep ROWING that lifeboat!
With my best to you ---
