I know Siteman Treatment Center in Saint Louis is known far & wide as a top-notch treatment center ... so I believe you will be well served by their expertise.
I have also been through radiation, as you have ...
That past experience will help carry you through this new round of radiation.
You added ADT to your treatment plan. It will be interesting to see how that will impact your PSA score.
When is your next PSA test?
The next time you run a PSA test, have your doctor request a simple testosterone test. You want to ENSURE that the ADT is adequately suppressing your testosterone.
In my case, I had to switch to ZOLADEX, because LUPRON and FIRMAGON did not fully suppress my testosterone levels, which led to very worrisome "spikes & flares" in my PSA levels.
That testosterone test was a key element in finding the right form of ADT for my case. All fellows on ADT need to request an occasional testosterone test, along with their PSA tests. My first doctor overlooked this, and it was a critical "missed step" that led to him being benched from my medical team.
My oncologist tracks my testosterone consistently, along with the PSA levels, as there is an important correlation, for fellows on ADT.
Above all else, I want to convey my encouragement and support --- as you embark upon a new series of treatments.
The combination of the new radiation treatments --- with the addition of the ADT ---- should pack a DOUBLE knock-out punch against those renegade cancer cells. An impactful & beneficial MIGHTY WALLOP!
Keep us posted on your treatments ! Let us know how you're faring, along the way!
Handshake, support, fellowship, encouragement ---
