Stephen.. when was the first time you realized something was wrong?
My psa was creeping up over several years. There was a jump from like 1.9 to 3.2 about
24 months prior to my surgery. Thats when my primary referred me to the urologist. Likely saved my life, or at least extended it significantly. I had no symptoms other than abnormal psa.
Guys on the forum talk about
treatment regrets. I do not have treatment regret but when my psa was 3.2 and the uro asked me if I wanted to watch or do a biopsy, i chose watch. If I could do one thing over, it would be to choose biopsy at that point in time.
As it turned out my PCa is/was aggressive and 12-24 months of time could have made a huge difference in outcome.I do not mean to complain as there are guys out there that find out when the cancer has already spread far and wide with their first symptom being a persistent backache, but yeah, if I could remake that one, snap, uninformed and ignorant decision…I would.
