I have had metastasize prostate cancer since January 2019. By Jan 2020 my PSA was 13.6. I am hormone resistant so all hormone treatment failed. I tried Xtandi and ZYTIGA nothing worked PSA continued to rise. I started Taxatore when my PSA reached 254 after 6 treatments went down to 37.8 had to stop because chemo was killing me i was so weak could not get out of bed. Doctor felt I needed time off. After 2 months PSA was 188.8. Started JEVENTA side effects are less but does not seem to be working. after 4 treatments PSA now 258.2 this point I don’t know what to do stop treatment or try another chemo. Anyone have this and then found something that worked.

Have you considered Provenge and then try some of the treatments again? Many find this beneficial as it enhances the effectiveness of the drugs that might have lost effectiveness. Also, have you discussed the combination of Opdivo and Yervoy? That is also helping some men.

Refresh our memory as to where you are being treated. Have you considered a consult with another MO like Oliver Sartor at Tulane or Eugene Kwan at Mayo? Both are well regarded treating tricky cases.

Is it possible for you to travel to Rochester, Minnesota, for a couple of days?

Or, could your doctor reach out to Dr. Kwon or another noted specialist? Scans results can be shared and sent electronically.

Your doctor needs to lead you forward, and you might need to ask for another doctor's opinion.

Hi Jerry - My husband is going to start olaparib this week. We thought we were moving toward Jevtana. MO thinks my husband is chemo resistant. Well.. olaparib is also chemo. Just grasping right now for a break. Nothing is working.
Dr. Kwon seems like a good option. We are working with 3 oncologists in different settings and they all agree that olaparib is the best option now.

Holding out for Lu 177.

Sorry to hear your news. I, too have metastatic PC and am castrate resistant. I've been through it all (see profile) and have been extremely lucky to have gotten into a compassionate use LU-177 program at UCLA. See my post on "My next treatment LU-177. While this program is closed, it's on the immediate horizon for FDA approval. If money is no object, LU-177 can be administered in Germany and Australia. I've recently heard India, too. Aside from that major investment of around $15k per treatment plus travel, keep your eyes out for LU-177 FDA approval. I will certainly shout this out when it happens.As you'll see from my post, while LU-177 doesn't work for everyone, my results have been staggering: from PSA 65 to 4.32 after three treatments... Hang in there, brother.
