SteveO, My Compadre ---
Think long-term ... a few walks a week ... not a marathon ... some neighbors walks for starters.
Make a plan --- establish a routine.
Spring is almost here --- there's parks to explore --- lake trails --- or a gym pass, if that suits you better.
There's a great trail right outside my door --- and I keep the sticks and branches picked up on the trail, year 'round. Even that adds extra motivation for me --- being a volunteer TRAILKEEPER!
Walk the dog --- meet a friend for a walk.
Best advice I ever received on this topic?
One of my doctors said to me, "The day you don't FEEL like walking, is the day you need to walk the very MOST!"
My DAD --- a leukemia, prostate cancer, and corona survivor --- walks every morning. I think he's going to motivate everyone back in my hometown to START WALKING!
If HE can do it, I can do it!
Love my daily walks --- once you build a routine, it gets easier! Lots to see outside in nature!
I don't skip weekends, either --- those are reserved for walks at area lakes & state & county parks!
