It would seem that lawyers, like doctors, tend to specialize in specific areas of practice. We've all seen their ads in the media for their specialties, offering their services in areas such as accidents, probate, malpractice, criminal defense, etc.
Well, it turns out that there are also attorneys, even firms, that specialize in cases involving virtually every aspect of cancer, from patient dissatisfactions, insurance issues, malpractice suits, and more.
In fact, if one googles
cancer attorneys
the result is a LOT of hits for websites for legal firms ready to spring into action to assist one for possible legal grievances involving cancer.
But we can even google for specific cancers, the specialization has become that precise. Googling
breast cancer attorneys
or
lung cancer attorneys
does indeed pull up a lot of firms that concentrate their work on those diseases.
And, yes, finally googling
prostate cancer attorneys
also pulls up a good number of firms specifically working PCa cases. While most of them are probably not in your area, just the number of them that there are out there is noteworthy, even being aware that PCa is a rather common cancer.
And they tell us they are quite ready to pursue one's case, even aggressively so. From some of their websites:
"If you believe that your primary care doctor should have done more to timely diagnose and treat your prostate cancer, please call us NOW at ... to learn more about how we can help you get the justice and compensation you deserve. Helping and serving all prostate cancer victims and survivors NATIONWIDE."
"You deserve to have your former life restored as much as possible to what it was. Let us help you do so by pursuing your legal options!"
"We will fight for you! You owe us nothing until we win your case!"There also are a number of websites out there offering more general assistance on finding and using legal help for cancer issues. Here's one that gives a good overall picture first (what I was looking for) and then provides some helpful links to more specific guidance:

I would think it would be safe to say that few of us would ever look forward to having to enlist the services of an attorney to deal with what has become a bothersome cancer legal issue, but it's at least helpful to know that help is out there if we need it.
