An odd notion, granted, that living through a major hurricane may indeed have similarities with living with PCa.
But maybe there's a case that the two actually are alike in some ways, have similar features, and that while there may be a degree of oddity in doing so, pointing out these similarities may be at least amusing, if not instructive.
Measuring the two:
GLEASON GRADE......SAFFIR-SIMPSON SCORE
6..................................Category 1
7..................................Category 2
8----------------------------Category 3
9..................................Category 4
10................................Category 5
GATHERING DATA FOR THEM:
PCA........................................HURRICANE
PSA test................................Hurricane hunter aircraft, in the storm, measuring
DATA GATHERED:
FOR PCA....................................FOR HURRICANE
PSA number, rising is bad.......Central air pressure, falling is bad
Hurricane: worrying about where it is going outside of us, hoping it will go away, PCa: worrying about where it is going inside of us, hoping it will go away.
Hurricane: Cone of Uncertainty. Predictions. PCa: MRIs, scans, etc. Predictions.
Hurricane: we constantly are watching the news, trying to learn more and more about it. PCa: we constantly are searching the web, trying to learn more and more about it.
Hurricane: we sit in front of the TV, mesmerized by the weather expert's scientific and detailed explanation of the hurricane and what to expect from it. PCa: we sit in our doctor's office, mesmerized by his scientific and detailed explanation of PCa and what to expect from it
Hurricane: the damage it does to some is horrific, but others are barely touched by it. PCa: ditto.
So the two are alike? An odd thing to think, granted, but perhaps there's something to it?
