Now I'm going to research repeat Greenlight laser surgery.
I'm thinking it can be done but should check Google first.
Spending too much time in the restroom.
Still elated about the PSA and have to add my testosterone levels were off the charts.
The testosterone clinic was not happy with my level being in the 600 range and upped my bi weekly to 500mg which I'm not happy about.
I'm going to insist that I go back to 400mg
1000 twelve days after injection is crazy high.
By the way, I take injection s because I feel like hell when my level is my usual 25 or less. I'm not into body building just want to feel normal.
My RO is not going to be happy with my T level.
Maybe one day I can talk my urologist into prescribing testosterone so I can inject smaller amounts. As of now I have to get my testosterone by keeping my Pca from the testosterone clinic.
The clinic doctor is a fanatic about testosterone so he might be okay with my diagnosis but I'm too afraid to fess up and risk not getting any testosterone.
I'll bring it up with my urologist but most will not prescribe.

I am in total agreement with daily or even weekly injection but I'm in a dilemma.
I withheld my PCA from the clinic because I was desperate so for now I'm stuck for now.
I will seek a doctor who prescribe but it takes time.

I know it's like a broken record but the urinary problem is still bothersome.
Occasional hematuria, pain when urinating and mild pain in the prostate area.
It's going on a year come November.
Maybe repeat Greenlight laser surgery might work.
At least my lowering PSA calmed me down.
1.47 is a big drop.

I don't remember seeing a post by a Forum brother mentioning he was told about a two-year radiation-recovery period at a RO consult when still deciding between surgery and RT.

BTW what I googled was that symptoms such as hematuria can persist up to two years. Then again I've read it may not last that long. I'm going on a year and hematuria, urinary irritation and frequently along with mild prostate area pain continues.
As said before, I will ask about repeat Greenlight laser surgery. That worked well the last time.
Not sure if it will help other symptoms but frequency may slow down.
Then again maybe in time it's all going to get better.

Google some more studies and seems like the symptoms can persist up to two years..
I'd guess the two year mark is about right but nothing is set in stone.
I'd love to get to the point where my urologist will be ready to prescribe testosterone but think I might have to search high and low to find one.
I did Google one in Manhattan at Mount Sinai who has prescribed to PCA patients but I lost the name.
Anyway things are going well.

I'm asking if most ROs are as upfront and frank about the average time to full recovery. For various reasons, I had ruled out RT for myself (although I was told it was as good an option as surgery), but if I had gone for consults to discuss RT as my primary treatment, this is information I'd want to be told. I thought a prolonged recovery period occurred only in some cases of toxicities, which clearly not every man experiences after RT. Your comment is the first time I'm hearing about this being typical.

i had triple play and the doctor was preparing me for the SEs, and there were plenty and not the least of which were the nine months of lupron. the first couple bouts of cyctitis included pissing fire and dried blood. the worst cases were in the first couple of years.

and i had rectal urgency so bad a couple of inopportune times i almost didn't make it to the toilet.

ejaculations for the first year or so felt like i was getting tased. and i had overwhelming weakness a few times especially after BT and IGRT.

it was tough at times but i was never incontinent. close but never happened

Flomax can lower BP
Reading what you and others have gone through and the time periods put things in perspective.
Cystitis may account for my hematuria but with my enlarged prostate and history of kidney stones, hematuria is not new.

Thank you. I get it.
Right now my right arm is hurting still after five weeks after elbow replacement surgery. Fingers are numb and the pain is still waking me up. Doctor said he never saw a elbow as bad as mine. He had to break through all manner of bone buildup so maybe that's why it hurts after five weeks.
Also have to replace from one to three teeth. Cannot chew well and parts of broken teeth are aching like heck.
So one thing at a time and one day at a time.
Wow you are doing well. Very impressive!
My testosterone replacement just makes me feel normal. I'm on the elliptical at least three days a week but forget about weights for now. Limited to five pounds then up to ten in four months.
Life is good and I actually don't complain much except here since I may help others who may share the same stuff.
