Once one is doing any form of ADT, testing for testosterone should be automatic with every PSA blood draw. Unfortunately, it isn't. I had to specifically ask that they include that in the testing order. I wouldn't have caught it if the nurse hadn't said something like "We're testing PSA today, right?"
My MO has never tested for T. Maybe his view is that the PSA drop after starting ADT indicates T suppression. When castration resistance sets in, the PSA will increase, but not because of an increase in T.
I'm not saying Largebill is wrong, but including a T test may be of limited value in some cases.

mine never tested for T either except for maybe once. but he did catch on that i was checking the box on my lab slip
