I believe, not 100% sure, Ken Berry is a Carnivore. His diet is pretty much 100% meat and eggs. No thanks LOL.

Regardless of where one stands on one advisor/influencer/diet, losing weight is a matter of burning more than one takes in. When the low-carb craziness was afoot, I was in the process of training for a marathon. I had numerous people verbally accost/challenge me telling me that my carb-based diet, which was also vegan, was going to kill me and that I'd destroy myself even attempting to run a marathon on it. Well, I completed the 2006 Duluth Marathon in 4:36:30, felt fine, AND I was 54 years old. I'm still going and the naysayers are still overweight and making more excuses.
Diet fads and their "gurus" have come and gone for decades. Ignore them. Learn portion control and hit the gym or at least get out and walk.

Every fad diet that comes along initially gets results in weight loss. Yes, even the all you can drink scotch diet.
The only “diet” that will work consistently over time is where you burn more calories than you consume.
We are into the second month of a trip which has MTB riding and hiking as a daily exercise regime when not driving and a Mediterranean diet which has a lot of daily veggies and fruits, usually meats, cheese but almost no desserts and no food from fast food joints or restaurants. 60% calories are from carbohydrates. Weight stays consistent.
As has been said already, set a daily plan for some sort of exercise and stick with it year round, keep away from fast food joints and processed foods you will be fine.

There was a great episode of NOVA on PBS that was about
the science of fat. Full of useful factoids. One that stuck in my mind is that someone who lost a bunch of weight to, say, 170 LBs has to eat around 400 fewer calories per day to maintain that than someone who has been a steady 170 LBs. Our bodies really want to go back to where they were.
