Disability Social Security

Just curious how many here have applied for Disability Social Security? I've heard that we are eligible for Disability Social Security if our PC returns after initial treatment or if it is considered stage 4. Have any of you applied and been approved? Or have any suggestions to make the application process smoother?

The SSDI Compassionate Allowance provision is straightforward and easy to follow. It essentially fast-tracks the determination process. It does not negate the need for a disability determination as it is not a presumption of disability unlike end stage kidney failure.

I have seen people get SSDI in a matter of months using the Allowance and I have seen people eligible for the allowance turned down as they weren’t truly unable to work due to their condition. So it is very individual.

If upon reading the provision you qualify and are not currently working due to the cancer, then you should apply for SSDI. Your doctors should be well versed in what they need to provide to support your claim. Also, it is often advised to hire a SSDI specialist attorney in the event you are turned down.
