Just wondering if you have had any vacations....... My doctor has mentioned it to me.... I think he is giving me the option. The once month shot and 4 pills everyday has become part of my life and no big thing except for the things that come along with it... I have always believed it something is working why try something else... What do you think...May will be two years for me.

Tough decision. My daddy once said if it's working don't mess with it. However, if things don't work out on your "vacation" you can always go back to plan A.

Definitely would reach out to your doctor for the hearing situation.

That's something your doctor would want to know.

Is the ringing constant or intermittent? Any history of this happening in the past, before you started ZYTIGA?

So glad that I found this thread. I was on the forum when I first was told I had cancer but have been away for a while. I still remember how much I would read Cyclones posts and how they helped me at the beginning of this journey. As I sit here today, I am a little ashamed of myself that I have not given back as much as I have received from this group.

I have just started the Zytiga regime. I am on my 3rd month. Been fighting this battle since 2015 (Gleason 9) and began to see increase in PSA and testing showed metastasis to the lymph nodes. Had second round of radiation and began Zytiga. So far PSA has dropped from 2.5 to .03. Can't complain about that. Now my fatigue level is through the roof, and I bruise really easy. Never had that before. I think if I walked out into a strong breeze I would bruise somewhere.

I am trying to get motivated to increase my exercise as much as possible.

That is certainly a severe reaction to your combination of new medications.

I really hope you can consult with a doctor this week. If nothing else, you might be able to see a physician's assistant in tge oncology department. I have done that, when my oncologist is away or completely booked.

One possibility is to try another form of ADT ~ such as an injection of LUPRON, FIRMAGON, or ZOLADEX ~ instead of the oral ORGOVYX you started.

As well, XTANDI might be an alternative to the ZYTIGA.

Right now, the issue is you started two new medications, so you don't know which one triggered these side effects ~ or whether it's the combination of both.

I am on continuous ADT injections (started with LUPRON, tried FIRMAGON, and have now been on ZOLADEX injections for years) and have not had any of tge side effects you are experiencing. As well, I take 4 ZYTIGA pills every morning, and have not had any of tge side effects you are experiencing.

Each case is different, to be sure. You definitely need tge guidance of your oncologist, to lead you forward. Your doctor will want to work through these side effects with you, to find a solution.

I have been on Lupron and Xytiga for 3 years now and have experienced the bruising mentioned in the thread.
I have also been very forgetful lately and i've been advised its not my brain. Normal MRI.
Has anyone experienced forgetfulness as a result of these drugs?

I have been on ADT with Lurpon and Zytiga for 3 years and having many of the side effects that are in this thread; ringing in the ears, cough, bruising, no interest in sex, back pain and memory loss, but the Dr. never tied them to Lupron. In some cases she actually sent me to other specialist for consultation and, of course, they didn't find anything!
My wife looked up Lupron side effects and all of these are listed there.
At least I'm not going crazy!

Well no, you probably aren’t any crazier than you were 3 years ago before starting ADT. 😄 Ain’t having no testosterone a blast! Most of the time it seems better than being dead though. You have to lie a lot when people ask how you are feeling. Sometimes ADT is a great excuse for various situations in life. You know, like sorry Honey I forgot to do that…it’s the ADT you know.🙂
