Lyme, many years ago , when I was in my 40's, I had blood in my semen, and urolgist told me it was likely just a broken blood vessel from a particularly intense orgasm. I suppose that could affect urine as well but I don't know.
not saying thats the case with you, just saying it was my experience.
ALL I CAN SAY, is if the Dr gives you a hard time about a referral to a urologist, (assuming you are in Canada, or at least not in the U.S.) I WOULD PUSH BACK VERY VERY HARD. This is an issue that needs to be addressed by a urologist not a primary care doctor.
Thankyou for your words of wisdom. I got to tell you I am scared crapless right now, of course I have looked up the symptoms of prostate cancer and found all of my symptoms, as well I have pain in my left hip that I have never had before and wonder if that is related. I don't know how you guys stay so calm. I pretty sure I can get a referral based on what is now happening. Peeing blood, 24/7 pain in the bladder area (its minor but there), pain in the hip (was never there before the blood), constant need to use the bathroom (once an hour). Pretty sure I will now get the referral.
I can also get from a private clinic up in Canada a multiparametric MRI. Would this be worthwhile? Anyone know? I can get this pretty quick within a few weeks. I don't want to piss off doctors however and go over their heads but I was thinking finding out whether I do or don't have a serious problem would be better sooner than later.
