Last three PSA readings of <.01 and now <.02?? I had LDR in 2014 and have had very good PSA results. Are <.01 and <.02 both undetectable, or is this something to be concerned about?

Hi BT, nice to hear from you. Yeah, both are pretty much as undetectable as we get. Probably just noise in the testing or maybe a new lab. I'm at .06 so 3x higher than you! Neither of us should worry.

If the number has a "<" sign it means that the amount of psa is undetectable with the analytical method used, which may vary from one test to another. It is not you, it is procedure what changes. The best possible results in both cases.

The test results are not a reporting of your PSA, just a change in the test reporting criteria. It may be even done on the same equipment but the manufacturer or lab decided to change its reporting for various reasons.

If you compare lab reporting of various medical systems, minimum and maximum values may vary for the same tests with the same equipment. Not having a value to report for PSA is a good thing no matter how you look at it.
