Thank you, all. I was 54 when I had my surgery. Had I been 67 like now, I’d probably have chosen active surveillance, but at 54 I couldn’t see what could hopefully be 30-40 years of daily worry. MRI had only just begun being used for PCa and was not yet ready for prime time and annual biopsies didn’t sound like something I could psychologically handle. So I picked a surgeon and had the sucker cut out. Over the years, the period of PSA anxiety has become shorter each year. I realize that so far I’ve been lucky compared to many others. Cancer sucks and I hope that the medical system comes up with a cure soon. There’s so much more science now. Again, best health to all.
