I don't know that there is a standard minimum definition of a bounce. I guess they were looking for a number that was higher than what could be attributed to normal PSA variance in measurement.

Hi guys,
My husband had High Dose Bracy 5 years ago - and has had a recurrence of PC. His PSA started climbing for about 1 year - and PSMA-CT confirmed PC in the prostate bed and possibly in the lymph node. His first biopsy came back negative a year ago so had another PSMA-CT again confirm PC and new biopsy scheduled. Please anyone have any input on what to do now to treat the return of PC! Thanks so much - you guys are so brave and very helpful to others sharing your experience. (and yes, he went to different PC specialists all have different views).

Can you show his PSA history and when did he have his initial PSMA and what was his orignal staging?

I would think he would be able to consider further radiation or other salvage options

Turboz, His PSA has been rising and has already doubled and so no question the PC has
returned. Also, PSMA-CT has indicated PC in the prostate bed and possibly in one lymph
node which turns out is in an area that is risky to biopsy as it is next to a main artery. As for
more radiation, his urologist warned against it. Also, a new study (2024) out of Harvard said
radiation (of any kind to prostate) can trigger cancer in bladder and to lesser extent to kidney
or rectum after 10 years. So, if a person is younger, not a good choice according to this study.
Once you fry the prostate with HDR can you still do cryotherapy or laser? Not sure at this point, and
what about the suspicious lymph. He had PSMA-CT 1 year ago, and then again in August.
Thanks for your response. He is awaiting a MRI and biopsy. (last biopsy after the 1st PSMA-CT
Aug 2023 was negative for PC).
