AdVance Male Sling System

Welcome and if you have read all of this thread you should find some very goog guidance on your decision. I would suggest that if you have not had your Uro do the FUDS and cystourethroscopy testing as well as pad weight testing you should do that to determine how good a candidate you are for a sling. I did all that as you will see in my profile. Also if you want to follow my sling surgery go to the thread titled Tallman's journey to Virtue Sling Surgery. I am now 17 days post Virtue sling surgery. Recovery is going well and I was thinking I was much improved on leaking but am not starting to leak when out and about, getting in out of car etc. Dr. Nitti who did my surgery is saying to give time for things to settle down before drawing any conclusions. Since you are in Jersey you may want to consider Dr. Nitti. He is one of the leading sling surgeons and is a co inventor of the Virtue and does AdVance as well. I found out about him on this site by Rapids experience. His Virtue surgery was early December and seems to be doing extremely well. As noted in some other posts Dr. Nitti cautioned me about slings since I was a constant leaker during the day before the sling....even suggested I consider AUS. I wanted to try the sling first even if I end up having to go through another surgery eventually. After dealing with mild to moderate incontinence for two years after a prostatectomy in March, 2008 just had a male sling procedure a few weeks ago (29-Apr-2010).  Recovery proceeds well so far.  Back at work and feeling much better.  No leakage during the day except for very small amounts after sneezing or coughing.  Able to walk and stand for extended periods without leaking.  One question though.  Find I am leaking at night while asleep.  My doctor says 'it happens'.  Haven't found anything about this particular problem on the Internet.  Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems.  Or is this a temporary issue during my recovery from surgery?
