Artiphicial sphincter turned on- YES!

Yesterday, 71/2 weeks after having my artiphicial urinary sphincter installed, my doctor pushed the little button to make it start working. After that, my wife and I went out to lunch to celebrate, and I had three large root beers. Then we went home and I mowed the whole yard. The great news is that I'm not leaking a drop. This after a year and 10 months of bad incontinence. The feeling is great, and I thank God for, 1. Ridding me of cancer with the removal of my prostate in 2007, and, 2. Allowing me to have thousands of wet pads and a lot of crummy days behind me. What a great, great feeling. 

Thank you, Magaboo. I am 59. I don't really know what all of the medical acronims are, but in 2005 my PSA was 2.5, then a year later it was 3.5, then in 2007 it was 4.6. A biopsy showed I had a few cancerous cells in one part of my enlarged prostate, so when the doc said he could take it out, I said "Git-er done." He took it out June 30, 2007. Then in April of 2008 I had an artiphicial sphincter put in, double cuff style. It failed, and was removed two weeks later. I then got a new doctor who put in a new one, single cuff only, and now all is good.
