Ive found one of the other annoying se,s of adt is the tiredness.Although i still excersise vigourously even on rest days i get very tired later into the early evening.I am fairly young for this crap and i want to enjoy my social life so does anyone have any supplement suggestions to take the fatigue out ?????

You might be suffering from anemia, which is another potential side effect of Lupron and perhaps other ADT drugs (check your drug sheets). There are prescriptions that can help, such as Procrit. So you might want to have yourself tested.

Hi Lee,

I had the same thing and started taking 250 mg of B12. Seemed to work for me. Be careful with the iron supplements. Not good for men nor post menopausal women. Iron concentrates in the body and can affect the heart and liver. There is a condition known as hemachromatosis (sp?) that can result from too much iron in the blood. Chelants or blood letting are the only way to lower it once it gets high so keep track of it if you decide to go that way.

On your next blood panel work-up request a CBC test (Also known as: CBC; Hemogram; CBC with differential - Formal name: Complete Blood Count) See: http://labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/cbc/tab/test for complete info.

Anemia is yet another high-risk category for those of us having to endure the side effects of Hormonal Therapy.

postscript - The "M" in T3a N2 M1 means your cancer (like mine) has

metastasized outside of the prostate capsule. Has your physician explained this to you?

As Mitch says, don't self-medicate. See your primary physician and ask for a blood test. After eight months on Lupron I was suffering from considerable fatigue and blood tests showed that I had anemia. You could need B-12 or iron, or something else, but the only way to know for sure is ot have the tests done. I was given a prescription for a drug that contains B-12 and iron and within two or three weeks begin to feel much better.
