... and I have your blood work results and your CT scan results, along with your personal medical identification number.

Perhaps this is not an appropriate topic and if that is the case, I won't be offended if it is deleted...

However, since my husband ended up where he is due to incompetency, I am outraged by getting someone else's private medical information. This is the THIRD time this has happened in less than a month. I can't help but wonder who is getting my husband's private medical records.

Please check your records carefully. It's more than alarming to get a record that indicates you also have a renal pole mass, only to discover it's not your name on the top of the report.

I do hope "Don" finds his way to this forum, so I can pass on his records to him. Perhaps if he files a complaint along with my complaint to the head person at the medical facility, stuff like this will happen less often, or better yet...not at ALL!

And where ever you are "Don," you are in my thoughts and prayers.

 

This is very worrysome. Sure hope your husbands docs are getting the right reports as they decide on treatment options to present to you.

You would not beleive the hoops I had to jump thru at MDA to get copies of my OWN records when I decided to have treatment elsewhere. At one point they actually told me they could not give them to me....only send them to my treating physician. But for some reason, they had a different attitude when I requested them in person.

K, yes it was MDA Houston Records Dpt. At first by phone, they told me I had to come in person and sign a release to send them to my treating Dr. of choice, but could not release them to me. Once there in person, it was no problem. Radiation Dpt. was the worst. 3 weeks after the examination and consult, the doctor had still not signed off their dictation. But I sweet talked someone into emailing me the dictation anyways. That person feared they could lose their job over it. Sad thing is, it turned out to be useless. Example-"Patient was explained all options, SE's and answered all of his questions." Geez, I saw 4 Dr.s in a weeks time and really could not remember what the heck the radiologist said. I figured no problem, I will just review via mda.org---nope. Never entered on to my online records until a couple of weeks after I got the email and had already left town.

Most have high regard for MDA and I think that is important for patients being treated there. Like any business experience, some have very good and some have disappointing. So I have a hard time sharing my disappointing experiences as I sincerely want those who have chosen MDA to treat them, to have a open mind about their experience and go in with a positive attitude. It is important for the patient.

I also hope Don finds us and wish him the best.

Did you notify the facility about the error?  That way "Don", whose medical record number and reports you have, can be notified with his results.  I know you're irritated about the error, but it's the right thing to do.  In the meantime, don't worry, be happy....Tim
