well sling is in. I will try to recall adventure to date without rambling. Met with uro prior to surgery and he went over everything again. Actually remember post op. Well taken care of. Got to room and wife and brother showed up soon after. I was very sore in the groin area. I felt pretty good with a mild throat irritation from tube. This now Friday afternoon. Light dinner and watched world series. Did not get much sleep as usual. Took oxycodoine couple times during the night. This medication tends to screw up my mind but I did need it. Night nurse said cathater coming out at 6 AM, yikes. She was good to her word. Pretty quick and not bad. Light breakfast. The key now was to be able to pass urine over next 6 hours. My 1st attempt resulted in a couple of drops. Intern dropped in and said not to force it and wait untill there was a full feeling. Since I have been leaking for 3 years I did not know what a full bladder felt like anymore. Also I had different sensations coming from soreness from cathater and incision area. Next attempt brought 100 cc. I had been drinking mass quantities of juice and water. Next attempt was 125cc. A bladder examine showed 500 cc still in bladder. I was concerned about
having to be put back on the hose for a couple of days. Next try was 200, then 250 and up to 300cc twice. Bladder then down to 100cc. Doctor said your out of here, nice. Relaxed at home Saturday still taking pain meds even though I knew they would constipate me. I was pretty darn sore. Also scrotum looked like a baseball and numb. Really weird. Pretty rough night. Med's made me slow to react and disoriented. I think I actually pissed myself. I know it is also darkest before the dawn so I hung in there. The good news was a was getting a slow but steady stream regular. Very hard to get in and out of seating. At this point I noted that this type of exersion normally would have caused leakage, I did not leak though. I handed out trick or treat candy on Sunday. Felt better to stand. Breaking wind but still no BM. Took one last pain med Sunday night. This caused some bad head games. I think all the meds combined were contributing factors. No real sleep again. Urine flow is now regular and no leakage.
Monday morning. Had bran for breakfast and just took some milk of magnesia. Still no leaks Soreness is better. Using the 2 towel sitting device to keep pressure off of incision spot, helps. The extended time off work is going to be really hard. I'm a very active 66. Uro told me my real test will come once I get back to my active job. I am a furniture service tech. Lot's of walking, up and down moves plus pushing sofas and other items around to fix them. Extended exrecise walking also caused leaks. That about gets me up to date. Thanks to bizman42 and worried guy for there threads. It really helps. I check back in with updates. Carry On.
