Trimix - re-use vial?

I am about to use Trimix for the first time since the initial test in the doctor's office last week. However, a friend of mine who tried it two years ago said it's a waste of money because once you put the needle in the vial you have to throw the vial away. But that doesn't seem right because the vial I just picked up has 5ml of Trimix in it while I am only to use 15 mcg's at a time, meaning I should get over 30 doses in one bottle. Anyone know about this?

The vial is for multiple use.

My uro's instructions included wiping the cap with an alcohol swab each time before use, then letting it sit with a swab on top while prepping the needle.

My pharmacy will package the 10 ml quantity in two 5 ml vials at no extra charge. The intention is really a travel / home vial (just in case it was exposed too long to temperatures out of range, you don't waste the whole lot), but if you don't travel, do it anyway if they offer the service, use one, then the other. Sounds reasonable for less risk, if there really is any.

Thank you so much, and that is what I thought. Do you put anything over the top of the vial between uses, like Cling Wrap? The vial came inside a plastic bottle, so maybe I'm supposed to just put the vial back in the bottle.

I keep it in the prescription (plastic) bottle. But remember that the cleaning wipe is to be used each and every time, no matter how you store it.

You need to protect the vial from contamination (it is in your refrigerator, after all, not the cleanest place in the house, considering the stuff brought in from the grocery store) and from light. My pharmacy packs the vials in either a dark bottle or envelope. Those can be used for storage. If you don't have that, put a piece of foil around the vial.

Protect from light inside the refrig ? the light in the refrigerator if off when the door is closed

Mine comes with a pamplet that says to toss it  28 days after the first use... My surgeon says to use the stuff up to 6 months or untill it does't produce the desired results.

Don't touch the needle prior to inserting it into the vial... And NEVER reuse a needle..
