New lot of Prostate Cancer stamps to give away

As I expected, I received a full sheet of (20) of the U.S. postage stamps for "Prostate Cancer Awareness".  These are the same ones that I gave away before.

If you missed out before, or if you are new to HW, or if you need one for some one else, I will mail you one completely free including return postage.  Just e-mail me your mailing address to the e-mail address that I have here at HW, and I will be happy to send it out in the mail.

Got 20 to give away, so the first 20 replies will get one.  And for the record, as soon as I mail, your address will be deleted from my computer.

Tuesday Update

I want to make sure you guys know, that the free stamp offer is open to all my mates in Canada, Australia, and anywhere actually. Already mailed some to Canada and Australia.

I got mine awhile ago and as promised I've been working on making a frame. The frame design has been a problem for me as I didn't want just a square frame but wanted to make some more meaningful for PC folks. This is what I came up with. It's make from thin walnut and is about six inches long. This is still a bit of a work in progress.

and this is the kind of thing I do to keep my mind sane and free from depression. I build stuff.

Andrew, what an awesome design, most impressed, and I love anything out of walnut. I do not have your woodworking skills, I am dangerous with power tools, lol. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Soon - I started putting on the finish today. Once that dries I'll mount the stamp.

One of interesting side effects of this is that I went to one of my woodworking clubs for some design advice and ended up starting a conversation about PC and PSA testing. I think I spent more time talking to the guys about PC than getting design advice.

Andrew, if you are like me, I take advantage of every "natural" opportunity to talk about PC, I rarely will bring up the subject, but if I get an opening, I will make good use of it.

Good for you. Need you to teach me some basic wood working skills, but being so left-handed, probably would drive you nuts, as I tend to do everything a** backward by nature, lol.

Update: 8-7-2012

Wow, the final stamps went out in the mail today. The stamp giveaway ended up being a bigger hit than I ever thought. All together, I have mailed out 40 plus stamps.

In a few months, I will buy another sheet of them, and make the same offer to any new folks to us, or to anyone that missed out the first two times of the giveaway.

In this day and age of technology, it's getting harder and harder to find people, especially young people, that are even remotely interested in stamp collection. It's a great hobby for me in my condition, and if you learn it well, it can be a substantial investment, especially if you collect the 19th Century U.S. Mint stamps.

Glad you have enjoyed them, just a small token of appreciation to my brothers & sisters here at HW, we truly are in the same boat, fighting the same ugly beast name Prostate Cancer.

Speaking of stamps, about 6 years ago I bought a huge amount of FOREVER stamps. I figured we use the mailba lot, with bill paying and whatever. Figured it would last many years.

Well, since then I've gone to Ebillpay and use email more. My wife and I still have a lifetime supply of stamps!

Forever stamps are a good buy for now, and if anybody in the office needs a stamp, you're making a few cents off the transaction (how many banks would like to be able to say that?).

When I lived in Europe, stamps were a great way to learn local history and language. I made a point of learning at least a little bit about the subject of each stamp I added to my collection. Then I had to learn enough of the language to read the catalog I would buy when I had a lot. Accidental education, I guess.

If I had only paid attention to the PCa stamp.

142, at the time of its issues, the PC stamp was just another minor mint stamp to add to my collection, don't remember giving it a thought at the time, but that was in 1996, my dx. was in 2008.
